Bonded Wine Trade
Software that follows the price of fine wine across the bonded market, tidies up messy merchant data, and helps identify buying opportunities
Fine wine is usually traded “in bond”, meaning it’s held in a customs warehouse before duty and VAT is applied. This leads to the exact same wine being listed across dozens of different merchants at wildly different prices. Because 30 different merchants will have 30 different ways of writing the exact same wine name, finding true market mismatches is an incredibly manual process.
To solve this, I built an automated pipeline that scrapes data from 90+ merchants, standardises the names against a single industry identifier and shows any potential buying opportunities worth acting on.
